As Christians, sometimes it can seem like our lives should be perfect. I mean, we’ve got God above us handing us anything that our hearts desire. And, we can basically run around doing anything we like ’cause we got a guy, Jesus, who’s just going to forgive us anyway, right? Yep, us Christians got it good. What difficulties could a Christian possible face?
How many of you just rolled your eyes into the back of your head?
Yeah, I couldn’t even get through that sentence without smirking.
Why is that? Why aren’t our lives perfect? Why do we still face difficulties even though we have God looking out for us?
No, it’s not because God is punishing us, even though we do deserve it. It’s actually because He loves us! Yes, God puts us in uncomfortable, icky, difficult situations because He loves us.
God loves us and He wants us to grow into strong Christians. The only way for us to grow is to learn, and the only way for us to learn is to be placed in situations that will challenge us. They are going to be hard, but they are nothing that we can’t bear.
Not only that, but we’ve got a God who we can lean on during times of suffering. He doesn’t just leave us out in the open and say, “figure it out”. No. God is with us. God is there to help. God will see you through any circumstance that you may face. Because, God’s got this, and with Him, you do too.
Yes, we will face trials. Yes they will be difficult. But during these times just know that God is giving you these trials to grow you into a strong Christian. He’s right there with you too, if you invite him.
To accompany this post, I made another Bible Journaling creation. I haven’t made one of these since way back in May. It was really quickly drawn out but it works. 🙂
It says, “Life with God is not immunity from difficulties, but Peace in difficulties.” C.S. Lewis
My journal is sitting atop my Chemistry textbook because that is one of my biggest difficulties right now. Haha. 🙂
Until next time! Blessings to you this lovely, Autumn Monday! May you lean on Him during all of your struggles! 🙂
